The utilization of this technology extends to entire fleets of large trucks and trailers. Metadata extracted from the driver's mobile device enables the assessment of driver performance in terms of safety and overall attentiveness. Additionally, MCT applications can facilitate real-time monitoring of phone activity, thereby mitigating distractions by restricting app usage while operating vehicles.
Active Monitoring
Distracted Driver Monitoring analyzes phone location and speed information to determine if the user is driving. While the phone user is driving the system detects potentially unsafe phone activity and blocks the user from engaging in select activities. Distracted Driver Monitoring can be activated from a mobile application or physical device connected to the vehicle diagnostic system.
Hands-Free
When enabled, Distracted Driver Monitoring allows hands-free calls and the use of navigation apps. Customization of enabled applications during hands-free mode is allowed.
Phone Usage and Data Collection
A phone usage event will be detected if the phone is being used while driving. Driving is monitored by actively monitoring vehicle speed, phone usage, and attentiveness through our patented eye-tracking technology. Phone usage data includes activities such as texting, calling, or using an app while driving. Location data is also recorded through the use of geo markers.
